Halloween

Griffin is going to be a skeleton tonight.  He’s given a lot of thought to his costume this year.  He saw a candy-dish Halloween hand at Target he thought was very spooky, so for a long time he wanted to be a hand.  Then we had about a week where he wanted to be the solar system, then he decided to be a skeleton.  He said “More than 200 bones!”  This works for me, it means I don’t have to be good at sewing and I just bought him a skeleton costume.  He did in fact count the bones, there were something like 79 bones on the costume which apparently is enough.

Tomorrow we’re going to a Halloween party where we’ll all dress up so I was wondering what I should be.  I said “Maybe I’ll be a cowgirl” and Griffin was shocked.  ”What?!!!  No!!!  You are a skeleton!  We are a whole skeleton family!” Apparently Griffin’s friend Daniel had the same idea about matching family costumes, he and his little sister are both going to be Curious George and both his parents had to be the Man with the Yellow Hat.

We’re pretty excited about trick-or-treating tonight, with the dairy allergy gone it’s the first time he can trick-or-treat and actually eat the candy.

Reason #1001

Not long ago I was complaining to Julian about feeling old.  And he said “But wrinkles are like scars!  They’re really cool.”

All the grown-up reasons

Griffin is lucky to have Julian taking care of him musically.  He listens to this CD almost every day:

He loves this song which I thought would be too heavy for a four-year-old but apparently not.  He still doesn’t say his r’s, so when he belts out the lyrics it sounds like “And all the gown-up weasons seem cazy now!  CAZY NOW!  CAZY NOW!!!”  It is seriously awesome.
